WANGlenciaga

Alexander Wang debuted his first collection for Balenciaga in Paris Fashion Week.
Most people couldn’t believe what a twenty-nine year old New Yorker could possibly offer the prestigious fashion house, Balenciaga. Skeptics criticized from the moment it was released that Wang was working on the Fall/Winter 2013 RTW collection because of his roots in creating luxury “street wear” for his own line.
I thought “Wanglenciaga” was a great idea. Sometimes and old brand, needs a great young designer to give it a fresh, new look and feel. Reinvention is one of the keys to longevity and success. Yes, a fashion house should stay true to their colors, but they should also find new ways to improve by combining new elements with the old. Balenciaga did just that with their collaboration with Wang.
Here are a few of my favorites from the collection:
Some Accessories from the collection:
It was evident that Wang added his “touch” to the collection. The Simple but Fashion Forward style with a twist worked for the collab. The “cracked lava” and marble pieces definitely made the collection, along with the marble print furs and lace trousers. Overall, the collection was a success and I can’t wait to see what “WANGlenciaga” has in store for us for next season.

The BEST and WORST Dressed of The 2013 Academy Awards

Charlize Theron in Dior
Simple and Elegant always wins in my book. She is the BEST Dressed.
Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani
Another Simple ensemble mixed with some “edge”, created the perfect balance of style.
Jessica Chastain in Giorgio Armani
This was the most simple look on the red carpet, but it worked for her. She was confident, and it showed.
Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli
Minus the Electric Blue Shoes
, Jennifer Hudson pulled this look off perfectly.
Nicole Kidman in L’Wren Scott
This dress could have easily been a Fail, but she made up for it with the fit, her confidence, and her beauty. She took a risk but it worked perfectly for her.
Helena Bonham Carter in Vivienne Westwood
Everything about this is Absolutely Horrible…..No Words!!!
Daniel Day-Lewis in Domenico Vacca
Men’s Fashion at the Oscars is usually the most boring EVER but this Navy Tux, chosen by Daniel or most likely his stylist, was the perfect way to set himself apart from the others. Perfect.
Robert Downey Jr. In Lanvin
EVERYthing is Wrong about this look. The glasses, the bow tie, the sneakers…Not a good look!!

Initially, I was kind of skeptical about Margiela collaborating with H&M in fear of brand dilution.
BUT surprisingly, the collection actually turned out Great!
It debuts in stores on November 15th!
Here are my favorites from the collection:
The Sneakers are my #1 favorite piece!
Ya boy loves Leather!!!! This White Leather Button Up is Perfection!
